PROGRAMS

What We Do

At The Chicago Juneteenth Project, we’re proud to offer a variety of programs that serve the immediate and long-term needs of our community. Our list of initiatives is growing, so stay tuned!

TechTogether

TechTogether is our signature program that focuses on bridging the digital divide for senior citizens. In today’s world, access to technology is vital for staying connected, informed, and engaged. We teach basic and advanced tech skills to seniors, helping them build confidence in safely using technology.

College Readiness

We understand that college preparation doesn’t begin Freshman year and we know that it takes a lot more than test prep to get our students  best prepared for college. We’re building out a program to help students begin to inclusively prepare for the best possible post-secondary outcomes, beginning in Middle School.

Unhoused Assistance

Freedom is a right. So is dignity.

We regularly partner with St. Joseph M.B. Church to provided the unhoused with some of the essentials that everyone deserves: a hot meal, clean clothes, and toiletries.

Post-Secondary Scholarships

In 2024, we issued our inaugural scholarships with a unique twist: a raffle to any student that lives in or attends school in North Lawndale or East Garfield Park who is pursuing any post-secondary program: trade school to college.

The Chicago Juneteenth Parade

The parade is our culminating event!

Produced annually in partnership with St. Joseph M.B. Church and supported by various businesses and organizations from across the city, and the community at large, we’ve been bringing this beautiful and boisterous celebration to Chicago’s West Side since 2015.
